Armenian Wine Week Launches Global Initiative Celebrating Armenian Wine and the Areni Grape

Seven days. Two bottles. One global toast to Armenia!

WineArmenia.org, an Armenian wine network, in collaboration with the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia, has announced the launch of Armenian Wine Week, a new annual global initiative dedicated to celebrating Armenian wine and encouraging consumers around the world to discover one of the world’s oldest winemaking traditions.

The inaugural Armenian Wine Week will be celebrated November 8–14, 2026, the second week of November, and will culminate on International Areni Day on Saturday, November 14, 2026.

The initiative brings together wineries, importers, retailers, restaurants, wine educators, Armenian organizations, media outlets, and wine enthusiasts worldwide to raise awareness of Armenian wine and support the continued growth of Armenia’s wine industry.

International Areni Day

International Areni Day is celebrated annually on the second Saturday of November in honor of Areni, Armenia’s flagship indigenous red grape variety. Grown primarily in the high-altitude vineyards of Vayots Dzor, Areni has become an international symbol of Armenia’s modern wine renaissance while representing a winemaking tradition that stretches back thousands of years.

The #UncorkArmenia Challenge

At the heart of Armenian Wine Week is the #UncorkArmenia Challenge, a simple grassroots campaign encouraging Armenians around the world to introduce Armenian wine to new audiences.

Participants are invited to:

• Buy two bottles of Armenian wine.

• Gift one bottle to a non-Armenian friend, colleague, or neighbor.

• Challenge three Armenian friends to do the same.

The campaign aims to inspire discovery through hospitality and sharing, helping more people experience Armenian wines while supporting the country’s growers, wineries, and wine tourism sector.
