EVN Wine Academy Opens Admissions for 2026-2027 Enology and Wine Business Program

EVN Wine Academy is now accepting applications for its Enology and Wine Business program for the 2026-2027 academic year. The program is run jointly with Geisenheim University in Germany and covers winemaking and wine business, from viticulture to marketing.

Program basics

Duration: 18 months, starting in November. Admission is rolling year-round.
Format: Hybrid. Classes are held in person in Yerevan and simultaneously online via videoconferencing, so remote students can interact with instructors and classmates in real time.
Schedule: 4 classes per week, 2.5 hours each, 6:30-9:00 PM Yerevan time.
Language: English.
Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Coursework

The curriculum includes Introduction to Enology, Introduction to Wine Chemistry, Wine Chemistry (with practical lab sessions), Viticulture, Wine Microbiology, Wine Sensory Evaluation, Wine Production, Wine Business, Winery Sanitation, Winery Management, Winery Equipment, Wine Marketing, Wine Tourism, and a 4-week industry internship. A trip to winemaking regions in Georgia is also part of the program.

Students based in Armenia get additional hands-on components: practical sessions at EVN's wine lab, vineyard visits during the Viticulture course, and use of the academy's winery and tasting room. Online students are asked to source their own wine bottles for the Sensory Evaluation course and must arrange their own internship, with proof submitted to the academy.

Certification

Students who complete the program in person receive a joint certificate from EVN Wine Academy and Geisenheim University. Online-only students receive a certificate from EVN Wine Academy. Certificates are shipped internationally by courier. Graduation is typically held in the first week of June, and online students are welcome to attend in person.

Tuition and sponsorships

Tuition for students in Armenia attending in person is 1,200,000 AMD, payable in 5 installments of 240,000 AMD.

Sponsorship consideration is available for applicants who meet at least one of the following:

Three or more family members currently enrolled as students (30%)
Financially insecure status, per government-defined ranking (30%)
Participation in the Artsakh 2nd or 3rd wars (50%)

How to apply

Applicants need to submit an application form, copies of diplomas (if any), a passport or national ID copy, and two 3x4 photos, either by email or in person at the Admissions Office. After submission, applicants go through an admission interview; international applicants are contacted online.
