Armenia’s Economy Minister said on Friday that the country’s wine exports continue to grow despite a global decline in consumption.
“While wine consumption in international markets is generally declining, Armenia’s wine exports continue to grow. This means we are able to sell more of our wine,” Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan said at a press briefing.
He emphasized that alongside the growth in wine production and exports, wine tourism is also steadily developing.
According to the Minister, in line with global trends in wine tourism, the Armenian government plans to invest tens of millions of drams in the Yeghenis and Areni communities.
“We plan to create a wine and agro-tourism cluster in Yeghenis and Areni, so that not only can we produce and export wine, but tourists can also come to Armenia and enjoy it here,” Papoyan said.
Armenia’s wine exports grew by 13% in value, comparing 2024 and 2025 data, he stressed, highlighting its significance given current trends in global markets.
