VAYOTS DZOR, ARMENIA – When you are working with vineyards that have thousands of years of history running through their soil, you aren’t just making wine – you’re stewarding a legacy. Trinity Canyon Vineyards is proud to share that this dedication has been recognized on the global stage, with acclaimed critic Monica Larner of The Wine Advocate awarding outstanding 92 and 91-point scores to two of their latest releases.
These scores do more than just validate a vintage; they shine a spotlight on the resurgence of Armenia’s indigenous grapes and ancient techniques.
The Standout Bottles
2024 Khatun Kharji 6100 | 92 Points
Earning a remarkable 92 points, this expression of the ancient, indigenous Khatun Kharji grape was praised for its vibrant acidity and electric freshness. Grown in the thin air of Vayots Dzor’s high-altitude vineyards, the wine leaps out of the glass with notes of wildflowers, stone fruit, and white pear, grounded by a distinct, crisp oyster-shell minerality.
2023 Voskehat Ancestors’ | 91 Points
An amber (natural) wine that serves as a direct bridge to the past, earning 91 points. Crafted from own-rooted Voskehat grapes and fermented in traditional clay vessels, it’s a soul-stirring tribute to centuries-old traditions. Larner noted its delicate texture and strong sense of place, layered with complex aromas of golden apple, bergamot, apricot, and honey.
“These scores hit close to home for us,” says a spokesperson for Trinity Canyon Vineyards. “They don’t just validate the quality in the bottle; they honor the heritage of Armenia's indigenous grapes and the traditional methods we’ve fought to preserve. It proves that these ancient ways have a rightful place on the modern world stage.”
Trinity Canyon Vineyards extends its deepest gratitude to Monica Larner and the team from The Wine Advocate for their thoughtful evaluation, as well as to the global community of wine lovers and partners who continue to champion Armenian wine. By balancing fierce respect for tradition with thoughtful innovation, Trinity continues to prove that the future of wine is deeply rooted in the past.
